Rtdera buys everything at full retail, carries it until something breaks, and publishes the numbers. If a product is only good on paper, you'll read that here first.

Rtdera score
Corvid Works · Packs
Carried across nine months of commutes, two Cairngorms weekends and one very wet Snowdonia bail-out. The harness still tracks straight under 14 kg.

1.32 kg
Marlowe · Light
Runtime held within 6% of the claimed figure on our bench test after 40 charge cycles. Beam is warm, not clinical.
Ashby & Kell · Blades
Cut 400 m of hemp cord before needing a strop. Sheffield-ground and legal to carry as a sub-3in slipjoint.
Brackenhaus · Layers
Six hours of Lake District horizontal drizzle and the cuffs were the only damp point. Pit zips are generous.
Loxley · Watches
Averaged +4 seconds a day on the wrist over three months. Lume is still readable at 3am, which is the whole point.
Kestrel Fuel · Cook
500 ml to a rolling boil in 2 min 41 s at 8°C with light wind. Simmer control is better than the price suggests.

Same protocol for every product
Every item on RTDERA is purchased at retail price. We do not accept review samples, loans or paid placements.
Minimum 90 days of real carry, plus a fixed bench protocol: abrasion cycles, load tests, runtime and boil timings.
Six weighted criteria — durability, ergonomics, weight, repairability, value and after-sales support.
Rankings are revisited every quarter. Gear that fails long-term gets demoted, and we say why.
